7. Jawan is cured

CHAPTER 7
JAWAN IS CURED

Jamali took a good care of the soldier. She helped him to walk around the place. He kept his hand on her shoulder while walking.  She helped him to eat food and drink water. Hakeem also helped him to walk whenever he came to examine his wound. Soon the soldier was totally cured.

Soldier walked in front of Hakeem and Chikka Naik. All were watching.

Hakeem was very happy.

Chikka said, “I feel that your leg is now fully cured.”

Shaking his leg, Soldier said, “Everything is by the grace of Hakeem. My legs are so well cured that I feel like running from this forest to my village.”

Chikka smiled. “What have you thought about our Hakeem? As soon as he touches, the wound is cured.”

Soldier smiled. “I will inform my villagers about Hakeem. People will come running from there also looking for Hakeem. It will be house full here.”

Lifting two hands and pointing to the forest, Chikka said, “What have you thought about this forest? It gives food to the hungry. If you ask for shelter, it gives shelter. It gives health to the sick. That is the greatness of this forest.”

Soldier was excited. “Not just the forest, even the golden people like you who live in the forest. I just cannot forget you all.”

All looked at Soldier happily. “It is our pleasure to help the needy.”

Soldier said with folded hands, “Chikka Naik, I will leave now.”

Chandra was excited. “You may go but only after attending the holi festival of our forest. Tomorrow is holi.”

But soldier was in a hurry to go.

Jamali took bath. Doing namaskara in front of forest goddess, she said, “Great mother, that soldier who is protecting our country came here and got his leg cured. Now he is leaving. Please protect him. He is a very nice person. Bless him to live happily whole life.

She opened her eyes. Flower fell from the left hand of goddess. Jamali was shocked.

Swami was also shocked. “My dear, I don’t know why, the signals are not good. What have you asked for?”

Jamali said, “That soldier is leaving for his town. I have asked for his well being.”

“Tell him to leave tomorrow.”

“No, Swami. He is ready to leave. I just came to take kunkum. Mother has to protect him.”

Swami gave prasada.

Taking prasada and folding her hands, Jamali said, “Mother, you only have to protect him.”
She moved away from there.
