CHAPTER 20
Terrorists plan
Terrorists were
watching TV in the darkness. The channels were broadcasting news about Dodda
Naik.
Pointing to the TV,
Maula said, “Isn’t that the fellow who sent our leader who is fighting for
jihad to jail?”
Looking at the terrorists,
Maula said, “We must drink his blood.”
Leader got up angrily. “Dada,
we will drink blood and also sacrifice our lives for Jihad.”

Meanwhile at
the village, elders were all sitting at a place and chatting. Suddenly Hakeem
came towards them with a newspaper. Dodda Naik’s photo had appeared in the
newspaper.
Pointing to Naik’s
photo, Hakeem said, “The paper is full of news about our Dodda Naik.”
Looking at the paper
and then looking at Dodda Naik, Chikka Naik said, “With you, our tanda has also
become world famous.”
Hakeem said, “Naik, now
we must be very careful. If any stranger came to our village, we must keep an
eye on him.”
Chandra Naik said, “Strangers come to our village
only for Hakeem’s medicine.”
Dodda Naik said, “Yes.
From now on if anyone came for medicine, we must investigate fully before
giving treatment.”

Krishna Naik
came to visit Durga in the evening. Durga saw him and was shy. He too felt shy
and stood looking at her. Durga went to her mother, who was cooking nearby. “Mummy,
he has come.”
Jhansi asked, “He means
who? Even if he was a stranger, can’t you tell the name?”
With shyness, Durga, “That
only, he”
Hammering her head,
Jhansi asked, “A stranger?”
Showing signal of
mangalasutra with shyness, Durga said, “Person who will tie this on me.”
Jhansi laughed
understanding what Durga wanted to say. “Are you trying to tell me with signals
that my son-in-law-to-be, Krishna Naik has come?”
Jhansi got up and went
to the front door of the hut. Krishna was standing there with his head bowed
down in shyness.
Jhansi asked, “Are you
also shy?”
She pointed to the cot.
“Sit down.”
Krishna sat down. Looking at Durga, Jhansi
said, “Bring water.”
Durga happily came out with
water. She gave water and stood watching Krishna.
Jhansi asked, “How is
everyone at your village?”
Krishna smiled, “They
are all fine. I felt like seeing you. That is why I have come.”
Jhansi laughed. “You
came to see me or Durga?”
Krishna bent his head
with shyness.
